Post-punk and New Wave 1977-1984

I have been absent for a while, but here is a brand new episode. This week I played nothing but new stuff, or at least new to the show: Rhys Chatham, Residents, Tik and Tok, Human League, and KUKL, just to name a few. Some exciting news, After the FACT will soon be on itunes, pending review. EDIT: well Itunes rejected my podcast with no explanation, other than saying “it could be for a variety of reasons”, thanks for being incredibly unhelpful apple.

Now here is a great video of Crash Coarse in Science on the old Uncle Floyd Show…

I want to appologize before hand for the poor quality of some of the songs this week.  we are apparently having issues with our equipment in the studio that is causing some stuff to sound crackly. Luckily it isn’t everything.  So this week we heard from Tom Tom Club, The Soft Boys, Blurt, Oppenheimer Analysis, Flying Lizards,The Birthday Party, Nervous Gender, XeX, and many many more.

DOWNLOAD!

As promised, this podcast  is not available at iTunes, where you can actually subscribe to it and have a new episode downloaded to your ipod every week as soon as one is available!

Apperently you can’t post youtube videos on this new blog, which really fucking blows… If you can somone let me know.

This weeks show treaded into weird waters as we explored some of the various DIY cassette releases on labels from the early 80′s, however a couple of familiar tunes also made their appearances to make sure you knew what show you were listening to. I will be gone next week, but hopefully this show can be rerun from where I am.
